Auction

LSMOC and the London to Brighton are very please to once again be supporting the Diamond Riding Centre and Canine Partners. Many aspects of the L2B are used to raise money for these charities, this includes a fantastic charity auction. On this page you will find full details of all the lots entered into the auction and details on how much money has been raised for these very deserving charities.

LSMOC and the L2B organisers give up their time to organise this event for free, and we would feel honoured if you would like to thank us for our efforts through a donation to our chosen charities. LSMOC has already donated 50p from every run ticket sold and every penny you contribute will make a real difference. All you have to do to donate is visit www.justgiving.com/l2b2008. All the money donated through this website and on the day is divided 50/50 and given to the two charities. By way of a thank you to donors, we will send everyone who donates a free L2B 2008 Promo Window Sticker and Postcard. If you are feeling really generous and willing to donate £50 or more I will allocate you a place on the LSMOC club stand, this means top notch parking in a central location (Show 'n' Shine entrants and club stands cannot be placed).

The Diamond Riding Centre for Handicapped Riders
This centre in Carshalton, Surrey, was established in 1968 to provide riding facilities for disabled people. The founders recognised that those with physical or mental disabilities can benefit from outside activities, contact with people away from their own environment and also the special therapeutic bond that can be formed with an animal. The Diamond Centre is one of the largest groups in what became in 1970, the 'Riding for the Disabled Association'. Running the Centre is very expensive and the riders' small fees are heavily subsidised, so the Diamond Centre is always in need of financial help, and potential volunteers are always welcome visit www.diamondcentre.org.uk for more information - LSMOC has been sponsors of the centre for many years and currently pays all the annual running costs of a horse named Dounigan

Canine Partners
Based in Midhurst, West Sussex, a fantastic charity that assists disabled people to enjoy greater independence and a better quality of life through the help of specially trained dogs that can help with day to day tasks like laundry and dressing. This charity is relatively new to us but is very deserving; it costs over £20k to train these dogs and hundreds of hours so every penny counts! Caring for and managing a dog ("Canine Partner") not only enriches human life in practical ways, but provides physiological, psychological and social benefits that help keep people healthy and happy. For more information visit their website at www.caninepartners.co.uk

(Please note that a catalogue of the auction items will be provided during registration on 18th May, and some items may be grouped together to make single lots).
