I joined the committee in October 2010 and I jumped in at the deep end with Regalia. This year I figured that I’d give myself a new challenge, because keeping my van going just isn’t enough, I decided to volunteer myself as the L2B coordinator for the 2012 L2B run.
I have been interested in minis since about 1994 when my brother got a clubman estate. I started driving minis in 2000 when I brought a cute little turquoise convertible. After it was written off for a second time I got to thinking about what my dream Mini would be and today after 8 years of hard work and a lot of money I own a fully restored 1970 Minivan, it’s not original but I love my purple van.
My day job is an administrator for a gas company that specialises in business gas. It’s not the most exciting job in the world but it has paid for most of the restoration of the van and its many engines since it was finished.
I get a lot of pleasure driving my Mini so I regularly attend shows and runs in the van, it can also be seen most months at the Ace cafe Mini night.
