Organised by London and Surrey Mini Owners Club

Peter Harrison

Born in 1945 I am the oldest member of the committee. I married Jackie in 1969 and have 1 son and 2 granddaughters.
My mini experience started in 1964 with a minivan, but as I had company cars from 1967, I didn't have the time or money for a hobby car. Jackie had a mini for 10 years but it suffered from "tin worm" and as I did not have the time to do the repairs it was sold.
My passion for minis was rekindle on a visit the Bromley Pageant of Motoring and at the show in 1995 I visited the club stand and became a member of LSMOC. I was involved in restoring a mini for my son and in 1998 purchased a new body shell from Rover.

This project never got started and it sat in my garage for 4 years until I decided to use it as my project car. Because of work commitments it took me 6 years to complete the car. The project car was completed in 2008 and is used for shows and meets. I joined the committee at the AGM in 1999 and for most of the time was just a general member. When I joined the club I did not own a mini but Jackie bought me a BMW Mini Cooper S for Christmas 2001 which is my "every day" car. At the 2009 AGM I became club treasurer.
